Limitations
This page outlines the current limitations of Redact RT, including supported video codecs, formats, and other restrictions. Please ensure your setup and input files comply with these requirements for successful processing.
The current version of Redact RT supports only specific video formats and codecs. Please review the following list of supported formats and codecs to ensure your input files are compatible.

Note: .png decoded on CPU; .jpg/.jpeg GPU-accelerated.
Supported Input and Output Types
- Anonymized media — output type can be selected independently of input:
- Image → image
- Video → video file or RTSP stream
- RTSP → video file or RTSP stream
- Optional redaction labels
Additional Limitations
- Hardware/device-bound licensing for tamper-resistant entitlement enforcement
- Single Docker container — no separate inference/orchestration container required
