This page outlines the current limitations of Redact-Edge, including supported video codecs, formats, and other restrictions. Please ensure your setup and input files comply with these requirements for successful processing.
The current version of Redact-Edge supports only specific video formats and codecs. Please review the following list of supported formats and codecs to ensure your input files are compatible.

Note: .png decoded on CPU; .jpg/.jpeg GPU-accelerated.
Supported Input and Output Types
- Anonymized media — output type can be selected independently of input:
- Image → image
- Video → video file or RTSP stream
- RTSP → video file or RTSP stream
- Optional redaction labels
Additional Limitations
- Hardware/device-bound licensing for tamper-resistant entitlement enforcement
- Single Docker container — no separate inference/orchestration container required
